Compass for Your Cause Program

Spring Hill College is now a part of an affinity program that will enable you to help earn funds for our organization by simply using your Check Card for everyday purchases.

If it sounds easy, it is. Through the Compass For Your Causesm program, you never have to solicit donations, conduct telemarketing efforts, or sell premium items. Here’s how it works:

  1. When you open a new BBVA Compass consumer checking account*, our organization will earn an initial royalty of $20.
  2. Then, every time you use your Compass Visa® Check Card* for qualifying transactions**, we’ll also earn a royalty equal to 0.25% of the amount of your purchase.
  3. You can even personalize your Check Card with an image that we’ve chosen, so you can show your support for Spring Hill College every time you use your card.

Class of 2013:  Your Health Insurance May End Sooner Than You Think

“Congratulations!” “What an achievement!”  You’ll probably hear phrases like those quite a bit over the next couple of months…after all, you managed to survive your college years and earn that all-important degree!  But you may also hear (or think) “Welcome to the real world!”  When real-life issues like health insurance coverage come up, the Alumni Association can offer some assistance.

A recent NIH-funded study found, essentially, two things.  First, huge variation in prices: Bills sent out for sprained ankles ranged from $4 to $24,110.  Second, overall, really high prices:  The average emergency room visit now costs 40 percent more than a month’s rent.[1]

The Alumni Association offers health insurance options to fill the needs of many new alums who will be without coverage after graduation, whether it’s due to a lack of employment or even under-employment.  Parental policies may not be suitable after graduation due to cost or location outside the parent’s network coverage area, or for those who are age 26 or older.[2]  And for those currently on the school’s plan, our student health insurance ends on August 17, 2013.

Don’t risk going without health insurance, especially when affordable options are available.  Most products offered by the Alumni Insurance Program are available to family members as well —even if they didn’t attend Spring Hill College.  For more information visit http://meyerandassoc.com/shc.
