No matter where you go, you’ll always have a home on The Hill!

This year's Homecoming on the Hill was one for the record books! The weekend was a huge success with more than 550 alumni, family and friends in attendance.  This year featured several new events, such as Saturday Brunch and Duck Boat Tours, and many annual favorites, including the Bay Boil and Badger Carnival.

On Friday, Seniors with Seniors kicked off the weekend with the classes of 1967 and 2017 having lunch at Stewartfield. During lunch, seniors and alums teamed up to play SHC Trivia. Prizes were awarded for most correct answers and best team name. The afternoon continued with tours of campus, the Communication Arts Social and the Connection and Reflections Business Social. A special ceremony was held to honor the Murphy family and dedicate the Murphy Fine Arts Center.  The class of 1992 celebrated their 25th reunion on the steps of Byrne Hall, before going to the Bay Boil.

This year's Bay Boil could not have been better! The food, the décor, the weather and the company were perfect. Attendees enjoyed a delicious seafood boil, with all the shrimp, fish and desserts you could eat. The Glass Joe Band kept the party going into the evening.

Saturday’s activities began with Brunch on the Avenue.  Attendees enjoyed brunch and sipped mimosas while Cabinet Members gave news and updates from around the Hill. The Badger Carnival, held across from Murray Field, included food trucks, balloon animals, carnival games and plenty of popcorn and cotton candy. Even the Azalea Trail Maids joined in on the fun!  Throughout the day, alumni were able to attend their favorite sporting events, including softball, soccer, basketball and rugby.

This year, a special commemorative commencement was held for the class of 1967. Because their graduation ceremony was rained out 50 years ago, a special commemorative graduation ceremony, lead by SHC provost, Dr. George Sims, was held in front of Stewartfield. The class accepted their 50 year, Golden Badger Diplomas and took pictures with Dr. Puto before attending the Golden Badger Dinner in Byrne Hall.

Saturday night, alumni enjoyed the photo booth and danced the night away to the Powerhouse Band. Alumni concluded the weekend with Java with the Jesuits and Mass on Sunday morning.
