Margaret Frances "Meg" Demeranville passed away Friday October 12, 2018. She was born on July 25, 1979 in Mobile, Alabama to Dr. and Mrs. Charles G. Demeranville. Meg graduated from Spring Hill College, where she was an active student and campus leader. She was a member of the Theta Delta chapter of the Phi Mu Fraternity at Spring Hill and maintained a life-long affiliation and love of her "sisters", working on various committees at local, regional and national levels. Meg graduated from George Washington University with master's degrees in both Public Health and Public Health Administration, and then graduated with a Juris Doctorate from Samford University Cumberland Law School
Meg was active and involved with several organizations in the community, including serving as a board member of AIDS of South Alabama and as an officer of the Volunteer Lawyers' Program of Mobile, where she received various honors and awards while assisting younger attorneys and persons of need. Meg was also active in Mobile social circles as a Leading Lady of the Infant Mystics, a proud member of the Ladies of the Black Cat and a member of a mystic society.
The Margaret “Meg” Demeranville ’01 Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a full-time undergraduate student who is an active member of Phi Mu Fraternity at Spring Hill College. The scholarship is renewable for up to four years of undergraduate study providing the recipient remain in good academic standing.
