Baseball & Blessings

Spotlight Scholar: Benjamin Bolton

Name:  Benjamin Bolton

Hometown: Mobile, AL

Graduation year: 2020

Scholarship: Zoghby-DeVaney Scholarship

Major: Financial Economics

Extracurricular activities:  I am currently on the baseball team, interviewed to become a Springhillian, and attend Mass and Night Prayer at St. Joe’s.

Favorite thing about Spring Hill College: My favorite feature of Spring Hill College is the close fellowship that it has to offer. Because of its size, I am able to create lasting and meaningful relationships with my professors and peers.

Most influential faculty or staff member: All of the cafeteria workers have showed me that a good attitude is contagious and that life is what you make of it. I love asking them about their day and listening to what advice they have to offer.

Career goals: I plan to attend graduate school, but I’m not yet sure whether I want to study law or business. After graduate school, I hope to either work in the business field or be involved in law making and politics to truly speak for the people.

A note from Benjamin: I wanted to personally make you aware of the opportunities your generosity has proved. Playing baseball in college has always been a dream of mine and through your gift, playing at Spring Hill College has become a reality. In just the short time I have been on campus, I have felt amazing spiritual, mental, and physical growth. Whether I’m attending Mass at St. Joe’s, listening to a Philosophy lecture from Dr. Ferry, or working out with the baseball team, I’m living out your blessing. I cannot thank you enough for your contribution and hope to make the most of it at my time at Spring Hill.
